Jon Tarcy
Producer

Jon is a producer working across film & television. 

Most recently, he produced the acclaimed independent feature The Effects of Lying starring Ace Bhatti, Lauren Patel, and Mark Williams. The film premiered at Galway and played an international festival run before being acquired by Vertigo in the UK and being distributed worldwide. 

He set up Piros Films in 2024, with the aim of making bold, authentic and commercially leaning films and series with an international focus. 

The company now has a slate of projects including ‘Bad Major’ a dark comedy based on the famous satirical anti-war novel ‘The Tot Family’, and set to star Jason Isaacs Ruth Negga and Josh Gad; ‘Beach Ghouls’, a comedy-horror written by the rising stars Tom Palmer & Tom Stourton and directed by BAFTA winning director Tom George; and ‘Punishment’, the first ever English-language adaptation of Rabindranath Tagore’s work. 

For television, Jon produced the TV pilot ‘Life in Black’ starring Liam Neeson, as well as a number of short films, including most recently ‘A Kind of Purity’ starring Nabhaan Rizwan and Aiysha Hart.

In 2024 he was selected for the prestigious BIFA springboard scheme for producers working towards their second feature.
